· World · Times of India, NDTV, The Hindu
Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s Office shared an edited photograph from the 26th Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit in Bishkek that removed several world leaders while placing Sharif at the centre. The original family photograph, taken before a session, featured heads of member states including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chinese President Xi Jinping, and Russian President Vladimir Putin. The altered image posted by the Pakistan PMO showed only Xi Jinping, Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov, Vladimir Putin, Sharif, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon, Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and SCO Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure chief Ularbek Sharsheev. The summit itself focused on regional cooperation, economic challenges, and security issues. During the meeting, Prime Minister Modi called for a united fight against terrorism and urged nations to dismantle the entire ecosystem of terror financing, recruitment, and safe havens without double standards.
Why it matters
