· Sports · ESPNCricinfo, Times of India
Pakistan secured a place in the gold-medal match after Samad and Nawaz guided them to victory in a rain-affected contest. India posted 192/6 in their allotted overs, with Pakistan chasing the target in a shortened format. Samad played a pivotal role with both bat and ball, while Nawaz provided crucial support as Pakistan chased down the revised target. The win caps a remarkable turnaround for the team following a scratchy start to their campaign.
Why it matters
Pakistan's progression to the final restores their title challenge in the tournament and keeps their ICC pathway intact, while India falls short of the summit clash after a strong group-stage performance.
