Pakistan has extended its airspace closure for all Indian-registered aircraft, including those operated or leased by Indian airlines and military flights, until September 24, 2026. The restriction, which applies to both the Karachi and Lahore flight information regions, is set to take effect from 10:15 a.m. on August 23. This measure is a continuation of the reciprocal airspace bans imposed by both India and Pakistan following the Pahalgam terrorist attack in April 2025. The ban has been extended on a monthly basis since last year, leading to increased travel times and financial strain for airlines. India maintains a corresponding ban on all Pakistani-registered aircraft and military flights.
