Pakistan Fined for Slow Over-Rate After Tri-Series Win

· Sports · Times of India

Pakistan's men's cricket team was fined five per cent of their match fee for maintaining a slow over-rate during the final of the ODI Tri-Series against Sri Lanka in Lahore. Match Referee Jeff Crowe imposed the penalty after finding the hosts one over short once time allowances were applied. Captain Shaheen Shah Afridi pleaded guilty to the breach under Article 2.22 of the ICC Code of Conduct. The sanction followed Pakistan's thrilling three-wicket victory at Gaddafi Stadium, where they chased down a target of 326 with nine balls remaining.
