Pakistan ranked 143rd out of 145 economies in the World Economic Forum’s 2026 Global Gender Gap Report, closing 59.5% of its gender gap. While the country showed its strongest year-on-year improvement in a decade, it remains in the bottom three globally. Economic participation continues to be the weakest area, with the country ranking 144th in that category. Significant gains were recorded in educational attainment, which served as the primary driver for the overall score increase. Political empowerment remains low, with women holding only 3.45% of ministerial positions.
