Pakistani Man Transforms Six-Marla Home Into Mini Forest for Mother
· World · LiveMint, Indian Express
Mian Asghar Ali has transformed his six-marla house in Pakistan's Punjab province into a mini forest containing more than 5,700 trees and plants. The project began in 2016 when Asghar planted the first sapling to fulfil his mother's simple wish for a garden around their home. So far, Asghar has spent more than 40 lakh Pakistani rupees on the initiative and continues to spend over PKR 30,000 every month on upkeep. The space now features greenery across doors, walls, and curtains, attracting visitors from far away to view the urban haven. While neighbours initially called him crazy for the undertaking, they now appreciate the work and view the family with respect.
Why it matters
The project demonstrates how personal dedication can create significant urban greenery in densely built residential areas, transforming local community perceptions.
