The Patna High Court has issued strict directives to Bihar officials to curb noise pollution caused by DJs, loudspeakers, and pressure horns. A single-judge bench led by Justice Rajiv Roy mandated a complete ban on the use of loudspeakers after 9:55 p.m. across the state. The court ordered that DJ and loudspeaker operators must maintain lower decibel levels during the day and operate in silent mode when passing near hospitals and schools. Police and administrative officials, including District Magistrates and Superintendents of Police, are tasked with enforcing compliance under the Noise Pollution Rules, 2000, and the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988. The state government has committed to implementing these judicial orders immediately.
