Australian Defense Minister Richard Marles confirmed the shipment issue involving a cockpit canopy and weapons-bay door, but maintained that the missing hardware did not constitute sensitive equipment. The shipment was en route for repair or disposal months ago when it was misdirected, prompting a congressional inquiry in Washington. Lockheed Martin, the prime contractor for the stealth fighter, has not yet commented on the incident.
