Veteran Hindi filmmaker Kuku Kohli, whose real name was Avtar Kohli, died on Tuesday at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai due to heart-related ailments, according to sources. Kohli directed several 1990s Hindi films, including Suhaag, Haqeeqat, Anari No. 1 and Yeh Dil Aashiqanaa, but is best remembered for Phool Aur Kaante (1991), which marked Ajay Devgn's debut as a leading actor. He married veteran actress Aruna Irani in 1990 and was previously married to Rita Kohli, with whom he had two daughters, Pooja and filmmaker Karishma Kohli.
