A Flydubai pilot allegedly stabbed his co-pilot in an attempted hijacking aboard Flight FZ1073 travelling from Dubai to Israel on Wednesday morning. The Boeing 737 sharply dropped 17,400 feet in just over two minutes and veered off course, prompting the scramble of Israeli fighter jets. Passengers near the front of the aircraft intervened and forced the attacker out of the cockpit, while two off-duty pilots onboard assisted in landing the plane safely. The flight transmitted emergency signals indicating unlawful interference before landing at Tabuk airport in northwestern Saudi Arabia. Israeli security agencies, including the IDF, Mossad, and Shin Bet, are investigating the incident as a suspected act of terror.
