Chinese President Xi Jinping will arrive in New Delhi on September 12, 2026, for a 24-hour visit to attend the BRICS Summit. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will host a bilateral meeting with Xi on Saturday evening following discussions on multilateralism. Xi will be accompanied by a 67-member government delegation, including Foreign Minister Wang Yi and CPC Politburo standing committee member Cai Qi. Prime Minister Modi is expected to raise issues concerning fair market access, supply chain reliability, and bilateral trade balance during the talks. The visit follows complete disengagement and resolution of issues from the 2020 eastern Ladakh military standoff agreed upon in Kazan in 2024.
