Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged India's automobile industry to prioritize innovation and pursue excellence to help achieve the Viksit Bharat vision by 2047. In a message delivered at the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers Annual Convention 2026 in New Delhi, the Prime Minister noted that recent free trade agreements have improved international market access for domestic automakers. He highlighted that expanding national infrastructure and highways are lowering logistics costs and boosting manufacturing competitiveness across the country. The rapid growth of charging networks is also accelerating electric vehicle adoption and fostering new innovations. SIAM President Shailesh Chandra read the Prime Minister's address during the event.
