Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged teachers to step beyond textbooks and get into the lives of children to prevent the loss of childhood. Speaking at his residence in New Delhi during an interaction with National Teachers' Awards winners on Friday, he stressed that teachers must ensure the child within students remains alive. To address modern challenges, PM Modi flagged growing screen addiction and video game dependency among youth, suggesting sports and creative programs as effective remedies. He also raised concerns over rising drug consumption, noting that the issue has expanded beyond universities and major cities into local communities. Later in the day, the prime minister is scheduled to visit Shri Ram College of Commerce for its centenary celebrations ahead of the 138th birth anniversary of former President Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.
