PNGRB Approves ₹7,000 Crore LPG Pipeline Projects Across Six States

The Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board has sanctioned approximately 1,800 km of new LPG pipeline infrastructure with a capital investment of ₹7,000 crore. These projects will span Telangana, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Karnataka, and Goa. GAIL (India) Limited is tasked with developing the network, which includes key segments connecting Cherlapally to Nagpur, Jhansi to Sitarganj, and Shikrapur to Goa and Hubli. Upon completion, the initiative is expected to increase India's overall LPG pipeline network by 24%, expanding it from 7,700 km to 9,500 km. The regulator stated that shifting LPG transport from road to pipelines will improve safety, reduce logistics costs, and lower carbon emissions.
