POCSO Case Accused Dies After Allegedly Jumping From Bengaluru SP Office

A 49-year-old physical education teacher arrested in a POCSO case died after allegedly jumping from the third floor of the Bengaluru South district Superintendent of Police's office complex in Ramanagara on Sunday. The deceased, identified as S. Shashidhar, was accused of sexually assaulting children at a private school where he worked in Channapatna taluk. The Ramanagara Women's Police Station had registered a case and arrested him three days prior. According to the police, Shashidhar was being escorted back to a police vehicle following a medical examination and fingerprint recording when he pushed a constable and jumped from the third floor. He sustained serious injuries and died after failing to respond to treatment at a nearby district hospital.
