Police Arrest Final Year Student in Tamil Nadu Murder of Engineering Student

Police in Tamil Nadu have arrested R. Monishan, a 21‑year‑old final‑year engineering student, for his alleged role in the murder of 19‑year‑old K. Amuthan on 10 August near the campus of a private engineering college in Othakalmandapam, Coimbatore. The victim was a third‑year student of the same college. Monishan is said to have joined a group that assaulted Amuthan over a prior feud on a campus ground at about 8.30 a.m. This arrest brings the total number of suspects held in the case to 15. Police are still investigating possible involvement of other persons.
