Security forces on September 9, 2026, busted a terror module run by an ex-terrorist in the Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir. Acting on reliable information, police in Handwara launched an operation that led to the apprehension of Manzoor Ahmad Bhat, a resident of Kruhmura Handwara. Authorities recovered a Chinese pistol, two magazines, and 16 rounds of pistol ammunition from his possession. Police stated that Bhat previously operated as a hybrid terrorist linked to the banned Hizbul Mujahideen and had been arrested in two prior cases. A fresh case has been registered against him at the Handwara police station as investigators work to uncover the full extent of the network.
