· India · The Hindu, RT International
Ahead of local body elections, police officials intensified Cardon and Search operations (CASO) in several villages of Kadapa district, including Moragudi, Chinna Rangapuram, Velamavaripalli, Venkatapuram, Polepalli, and Brahmanapalli. Acting on the orders of SP Shelke Nachiket Vishwanath and under the supervision of Pulivendula DSP B. Murali, police conducted vehicle inspections, seized 17 two-wheelers and five auto-rickshaws lacking proper documentation, and carried out foot patrols to reassure public safety. Officials warned of legal action against those violating election guidelines and urged villagers to avoid altercations and maintain law and order. The SP also directed accommodation establishments to report details of foreign nationals via the online portal as mandated under the Immigration and Foreigners Act, 2025, and Rules, 2025.
Why it matters
Villagers in Kadapa district are directly affected by heightened police surveillance and checks, aiming to ensure peaceful elections. Accommodation providers must now comply with foreign national reporting rules, impacting hotels, lodges, hospitals, and educational institutions.
