Police Reveal Gang Motives Behind Haryanvi Singer Ankit Baliyan's Murder

Uttar Pradesh Police stated that the murder of Haryanvi singer and YouTuber Ankit Baliyan in Shamli stemmed from gang-related tensions over a song that angered associates of slain gangster Jitender Maan alias Gogi. Two suspects, identified as Mohit and Sumit from Sonipat, were killed in a police encounter following a shootout on Kairana Road. Shamli Superintendent of Police Narendra Pratap Singh said the suspects opened fire on police personnel during nighttime checks and were fatally injured in retaliatory firing. According to investigators, the accused took offense to Baliyan's song referencing the 2021 court murder of Gogi in Delhi's Rohini. Two police constables sustained serious injuries during the operation and were transferred to a higher medical center for treatment.
