Pope Leo XIV has called on the international community to intensify efforts to contain the rapidly spreading Ebola virus in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The appeal follows reports that the epidemic is expanding exponentially, particularly in regions with weak state presence and limited health infrastructure. More than 16,000 doses of the Ervebo vaccine have already been delivered to the affected areas to combat the current outbreak. During his Angelus prayer in St Peter's Square, the Pope emphasized the need to involve local communities in life-saving response efforts.
