Pratap Simha Booked Over Provocative Speech in T. Narasipur

Former MP Pratap Simha has been booked by the T. Narasipur Town police for allegedly making a provocative speech during a Ganesha procession in Mysuru district on September 18. Police registered a case under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for disturbing public peace, promoting enmity between groups, and insulting religious sentiments. According to the complaint, Mr. Simha addressed a gathering from a vehicle near a mosque on Link Road and directed challenging remarks at Town police inspector Dhananjaya. The procession followed an earlier BJP protest against the inspector's warning to youths against bursting crackers near the mosque. Reacting to the FIR, Mr. Simha accused the police inspector of provoking Hindu sentiments and claimed the case was filed under pressure from Home Minister Priyank Kharge.
