Private non-profit organization Olympic Gold Quest spent ₹77 crore in 2024-25, surpassing government funding for the parallel Target Olympic Podium Scheme. Established in 2001 by billiards champion Geet Sethi and badminton icon Prakash Padukone, the foundation targets high-potential athletes across 10 Olympic and 8 Paralympic sports. Over the past seven years, its financial support grew fourfold from ₹19 crore in 2018-19, clocking a compound annual growth rate of 26.2%. The foundation currently backs 178 senior athletes, 110 junior scholars, 111 para-athletes, 3 sports federations, and 5 sports academies. At the recent Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, where India finished fourth with 39 medals, 9 medal winners were supported by the organization.
