Pro-Palestine Action Supporters Plan Vigil at Labour Party Conference

Protesters are gathering in Liverpool this Sunday for a silent vigil during the Labour Party conference, the first presided over by Prime Minister Andy Burnham. The demonstration follows the government's decision to proscribe Palestine Action as a terrorist group in July 2025. Organisers from the rights group Defend Our Juries are calling for the ban to be lifted, citing the group's opposition to British complicity in Israeli military actions. Since the ban, more than 3,600 people have been arrested for supporting the organisation. The protest serves as a test of the new leadership's stance on arms sales and foreign policy regarding the conflict in Gaza and the West Bank.
