Pulkit Mani Cancels Shows After Threats

Stand-up comedian Pulkit Mani said on Sunday that his Noida, Lucknow and Kanpur shows in Uttar Pradesh were cancelled. He said the Noida show was cancelled because of unforeseen circumstances and blamed repeated threats from goon activists for the Lucknow and Kanpur cancellations. The cancellations followed his mimicry of Prime Minister Narendra Modi during Rahul Gandhi's 'Chhatron Ki Goonj' event in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, on Saturday. The Congress shared a video on X showing Mani, dressed as Modi, hug Gandhi and deliver lines including “Give Mother a chair, Mother”. BJP leaders criticised the performance, with Union minister Piyush Goyal calling the Congress a circus and Rahul Gandhi an uncultured disgruntled uncle. No group or individual has been identified in connection with the threats.
