The main Ganesh immersion procession in Pune city concluded after 33 hours and 27 minutes, stretching longer than in each of the previous four years. The traditional procession began on Anant Chaturdashi with rituals for Kasba Ganpati at 8.43 am on Friday and ended around 6.10 pm on Saturday. Pune City Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar attributed the extended duration to a larger turnout facilitated by the Metro service, which carried about six lakh people on Friday. Police prioritized public safety, women's security, and traffic management over reducing procession time, deploying 33 ambulances along the route. The immersion of the five prominent manache Ganpati mandals concluded by early Saturday evening.
