Pune Minors Kill Class 12 Student Over Social Media Status Dispute

Morning walkers discovered the body of a 17-year-old Class 12 student on a hill near the Automotive Research Association of India building in Pune city's Kothrud area on Wednesday. Police stated that two minor friends allegedly murdered him following a dispute over a WhatsApp and Instagram status supporting individuals who had previously beaten one of the suspects. The victim was initially taken to a temple in the Rajgad area on Tuesday night before being attacked with an iron rod on the hill. The Kothrud police have detained the two minors after booking them for murder based on a complaint filed by the victim's father. Police Inspector Sunil Karote confirmed that the suspects have no previous criminal record.
