Pune woman dies as temporary structure collapses during Dahi Handi event

A 45-year-old woman named Salma Salauddin Pathan died in Pune's Pimpri Chinchwad after a metallic truss used for Dahi Handi celebrations. The incident occurred around 10 pm on Friday while workers were dismantling the structure built for Janmashtami. Pathan, a resident of Juni Sangvi, sustained fatal head injuries and was pronounced dead at a hospital. Police have registered an accidental death report and launched an investigation into potential negligence.
