Qualcomm announced two new flagship smartphone processors, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 and the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, at its annual Snapdragon Summit. The chips feature new sensing hubs designed to run AI models locally, including voice-in and voice-out agents. The Extreme version supports 30-billion-parameter models and enables 8K video recording at 60 frames per second. Motorola confirmed its upcoming Signature 27 smartphone will be powered by the Extreme variant. The company aims to shift AI processing from dedicated devices directly to smartphones.
