A senior Punjab government official and the Aam Aadmi Party stated the state government has no role in the process, which is managed entirely by the Election Commission. Chadha, who joined the BJP in April 2026, stated he is currently availing of the official remedy process to ensure his name is reinstated in the final rolls scheduled for publication on October 12.
