Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi climbed police barricades and waved the Tricolour in New Delhi on Tuesday during an opposition INDIA bloc protest march to the Election Commission of India. Over 300 opposition MPs joined the march from the Parliament House complex to submit a memorandum against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and the special intensive revision exercise. Police detained several leaders during the demonstration, including Priyanka Gandhi, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, and Trinamool Congress MPs Abhishek Banerjee and Derek O'Brien. The protesting leaders subsequently entered the Akashvani Bhawan premises near the ECI office to stage a sit-in protest. Rahul Gandhi stated during the demonstration that the opposition alliance aimed to counter and dismantle the poll body while defending democratic institutions.
