· India · Hindustan Times, Zee News, Times of India
Opposition MPs led by Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi met President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi on Friday to submit a memorandum over alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision. Gandhi claimed after the meeting that he was shocked when the President accepted their allegations of vote theft rather than denying them. The 10-member delegation included Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee, Samajwadi Party leader Rajiv Rai, NCP leader Supriya Sule, and National Conference leader Omar Abdullah. Gandhi stated that the memorandum accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar of conspiring to destroy Indian democracy. Before the meeting, the INDIA bloc gathered at Parliament's Central Hall where Gandhi recalled Jawaharlal Nehru's 1947 address.
