A consumer commission in Karnataka found South Western Railway guilty of deficiency in service after T Nagendra and 23 family members, including four children, were forced to alight from a train because coach washrooms had no water. The commission ordered a refund of Rs 1,000, a compensation of Rs 10,000, and Rs 5,000 in litigation costs.
