Raj Thackeray deletes Adani-Modiji documentary post after Mumbai Police request
· Sports · Indian Express, The Hindu
Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray removed a viral documentary on PM Narendra Modi and Gautam Adani from social media on Sunday following a request from the Mumbai Police Commissioner. The documentary, shared by Sabir Bhatia, detailed their alleged long-standing friendship and claimed the Indian industrial landscape was being handed over to Adani, garnering over 4.8 million views on Twitter alone. Thackeray stated his objective of highlighting the issue had been achieved, even as he clarified his opposition was not directed at any specific individual. He added that his earlier January 2026 presentation at Shivtirth in Mumbai on the same theme remained online and some clips from it were incorporated into the removed documentary.
Why it matters
The removal follows police pressure over content alleging a close relationship between the Prime Minister and a major industrialist, impacting political discourse on corporate influence in India.
