Kojadmal Jat has converted three acres of his land in Kundanpura, Rajasthan, into a 600 kW agrivoltaics pilot project. This model allows for simultaneous crop cultivation, such as maize, beneath elevated solar panels that feed electricity into the local grid. The project provides irrigation power for approximately 250 neighbouring farms while offering the owner a predictable monthly income. Despite the success of this pilot, researchers from the Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations note that high upfront costs and financing constraints remain significant barriers to scaling the practice.
