The Rajasthan government revealed to the Legislative Assembly that 611 government schools, including 10 girls' schools, operate without dedicated buildings, highlighting severe infrastructure gaps. The state has allocated ₹550 crore for repairs and renovations in response to the findings from a post-Jhalawar school accident audit. Opposition leader Tika Ram Jully raised concerns over unsafe campuses, citing cases like a Bagru school functioning from a cowshed after its original building was declared unsuitable. Jaipur has 38 such schools, while Jhalawar’s Aklera block tops the list with 23.
