Vote counting is underway for 10,245 councillor posts across 309 urban local bodies in Rajasthan, with the BJP taking early leads in multiple municipal corporations. The elections cover 10 municipal corporations, 51 municipal councils, and 248 municipalities following two phases of voting held on September 9 and September 11. Voter turnout reached 76.42 percent in the first phase and 70.68 percent in the second phase, with over 1.44 crore voters eligible to participate. Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma and former chief minister Ashok Gehlot led extensive campaigning for the BJP and Congress respectively. The final election of mayors and chairpersons is scheduled for September 21, followed by deputy mayors and vice-presidents on September 22.
