Rajat Patidar has withdrawn from the India A squad for the upcoming ACC Rising Stars Asia Cup, citing injury management concerns. The Men’s Selection Committee has named Ayush Badoni as his replacement for the tournament, which begins in Doha on November 19. Rinku Singh has been appointed as the vice-captain, while Tilak Varma will continue to lead the side. India A is placed in Group B alongside the UAE, Nepal, and Pakistan A, with their opening match against Pakistan A scheduled for November 22.
Why it matters
Patidar's withdrawal forces a change in the squad's composition just before a major regional tournament, impacting the team's leadership and depth for the upcoming matches against rivals like Pakistan A.
