Prasad, who held distribution rights for Andhra Pradesh and Nizam, said Rajinikanth summoned him to his office, conducted a detailed financial accounting, and returned the full amount the next day. The actor-producer, who wrote Baba’s screenplay, stated he made the film for personal satisfaction, not to cause losses, and refused to take the money to Dubai. Baba, a supernatural action drama starring Manisha Koirala and Amrish Puri with music by A.R. Rahman, was produced under Rajinikanth’s banner, Lotus International, following his return after Padayappa.
