Rajkot Mother Arrested for Murder After Toddler Falls From Fifth Floor

Police in Rajkot arrested a woman for allegedly throwing her two-year-old daughter off the ledge of a stairwell from the fifth floor of an apartment complex on Kuvadwa road. Officers initially registered a case of accidental death after finding the child, Snehal alias Tingu Sakariya, dead from grievous head injuries on October 12. Investigators grew suspicious after analyzing the physical circumstances of the fall, noting that the child stood three feet tall while the stairwell railing measured four and a half feet high. The victim's father, Sanjay Sakariya, filed a complaint leading to a murder FIR against the mother, Poonam, on October 15. Police Inspector G R Chauhan stated that the accused has confessed to the crime, claiming she was in a confused mental state.
