Rajnath Singh Lays Foundation For Five GRSE And Yantra India Projects In Bengal

Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh virtually laid the foundation stone for five brownfield expansion projects worth nearly ₹3,500 crore in Kolkata on Sunday. Accompanied by West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari, Singh inaugurated three facilities for Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers and two for Yantra India Ltd. GRSE has secured lease agreements with the Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port for two shipyards on the Hooghly and a 32-acre property at Raichak to boost warship construction. Singh noted that the industrial investments mark a shift away from past factory closures in West Bengal. Company officials stated the projects will generate employment and support ancillary micro, small, and medium enterprises.
