Ram Gopal Varma Begins Shooting Two-Part Police Company

· Entertainment · Bollywood Hungama, Indian Express

Director Ram Gopal Varma has commenced shooting for his upcoming period crime thriller Police Company in Mumbai. Produced by T-Series, the film will be released in two parts shot back-to-back, with makers planning releases a few months apart in 2027. The project stars Harshvardhan Rane as Mumbai Police encounter specialist Daya Nayak, alongside Fardeen Khan, Saurabh Shukla, Paresh Rawal, and Makarand Deshpande. Although T-Series initially considered a web series format, Varma insisted on a theatrical release across two instalments due to the expansive scale of the narrative. Set in the late 1990s and early 2000s, the film chronicles the Mumbai Police Detection Unit squad formed to dismantle organized crime syndicates.
