The search committee for the Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has submitted a final report recommending three candidates for the Trust's first full-time CEO position. The panel was selected from 5,585 applications, with retired bureaucrats among the top contenders, though the committee has not disclosed their names. The Trust is set to take a final decision at its September 3 meeting in Ayodhya. The appointment follows allegations of donation embezzlement at the Ram temple, which led to the arrest of eight accused and the resignation of three officials, including former general secretary Champat Rai. Eligibility criteria required applicants to be aged 50-70 with at least 20 years of administrative experience, proficiency in Hindi and English, and to be practising Hindus with devotion to Lord Ram. The selection process combined AI-enabled screening with manual assessment conducted across Delhi-NCR, Pune, and Sambalpur.
