The Food and Drug Administration in Thane issued a stop-business notice to an establishment in Bhiwandi after a video surfaced showing a rat swimming in a container of gulab jamuns. Santosh Sirosiya, Assistant Commissioner of FDA Thane, stated that officials inspected the shop on Naga Road in Shanti Nagar following the viral reel. Inspectors found the operator lacked mandatory food business registration certificates and proper documentation. The establishment was sourcing ready-made sweets from Kalyan for resale rather than manufacturing them on-site. Officials noted that the exact manner of how the rodent entered the heavily covered container remains unclear.
