RBI Eases Export-Import Reporting for Individuals, Sets Rs 10 Lakh Threshold
· Business · Indian Express, Economic Times
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) amended Foreign Exchange Management regulations on November 2, 2026, setting a Rs 10 lakh threshold for simplified export declaration form (EDF) submission for service exporters. Resident individuals will be deemed to have filed the EDF once they provide required information to their Authorised Dealer for crediting service payments into their account. The changes, notified through the (Second Amendment) Regulations, 2026, will take effect retrospectively from October 1, 2026. The amendment does not specify a monetary ceiling for resident individuals under this provision.
Why it matters
Resident individuals and service exporters under Rs 10 lakh will face reduced reporting burden, streamlining compliance for small-scale cross-border service transactions.
