RBI To Consolidate Bank Deposits And Securities In Single Statement

The Reserve Bank of India will allow SEBI-registered depositories to include bank deposit details alongside securities and debt holdings in a single consolidated statement by the end of 2026. Additionally, the central bank has approved interoperability among NBFC account aggregators, allowing users to manage financial data from multiple sources through one account. Governor Sanjay Malhotra also announced that the Monetary Policy Committee has unanimously voted to increase the repo rate by 25 basis points to 5.5%. A new technical consultative committee will be established to facilitate structured engagement between market participants and the RBI on policy matters.
