Real Madrid defender Raul Asencio has been acquitted by a Spanish court of alleged involvement in distributing a sexually explicit video involving a minor. The charges were withdrawn against the 23-year-old in Las Palmas, Gran Canaria, following an intimate encounter at a beach club in June 2023. The court handed minimum sentences and suspended prison terms to three former Real Madrid academy team-mates after the victims forgave the accused. In a separate case, Real Madrid opened disciplinary proceedings against Asencio over a drink-driving conviction in Gran Canaria from 16 August. Asencio was fined and had his driving licence suspended for eight months after being more than three times over the legal alcohol limit.
