Rescued Tiger Nandu Euthanised at Thrissur Zoological Park Due to Oral Cancer

A male tiger named Nandu was euthanised at the Thrissur Zoological Park at Puthur in Kerala following a severe deterioration in his health. Nandu had previously been rescued from Wayanad and brought to the facility for specialized veterinary care. Veterinary specialists diagnosed him with advanced oral cancer, which left him unable to eat and caused severe pain. The euthanasia was carried out under the orders of the Chief Wildlife Warden after experts concluded there was no realistic possibility of recovery. Following the procedure, a post-mortem examination was conducted at the Mannuthy Veterinary University before Nandu was buried within the zoological park premises.
