Reservation Hatao Protesters Refuse To Move From Jantar Mantar

Protesters under the banner of Reservation Hatao Andolan arrived at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on Friday morning to demand the abolition of caste-based reservation. Delhi Police asked the group to shift their demonstration to Ramlila Maidan, citing prohibitory orders under Section 163 of the BNSS in force across the New Delhi district. Organisers Abhishek Agnihotri and Harsh Dubey refused to leave and began setting up a stage at the site. Police later issued a no-objection certificate allowing up to 500 protesters to hold a peaceful gathering at Ramlila Maidan until 4 pm. The protesters maintained that they would remain at Jantar Mantar as their numbers continued to increase.
