Indian wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant hit a 95-metre six during the second Test against Sri Lanka in Colombo, causing visible damage to a solar panel on the stadium roof. Pant, who had retired hurt on the opening day due to an arm injury, returned to the crease to score his 21st Test half-century. During his innings, he also surpassed MS Dhoni to become India's highest run-scorer as a designated wicketkeeper in away or neutral Tests. He and Dhruv Jurel helped India build a significant first-innings total.
