· Sports · ESPNCricinfo, Times of India, Outlook India
Rishabh Pant has been ruled out of India A's first two four-day matches against New Zealand A due to injury. Wicketkeeper-batsman Kumar Kushagra has been named as his replacement in the squad. The Board of Control for Cricket in India confirmed the change in the India A lineup. The matches are part of India A's preparation ahead of the upcoming series against New Zealand. Pant's absence opens up an opportunity for Kushagra to showcase his talent at the higher level.
Why it matters
Pant's injury creates a chance for young wicketkeeper-batsman Kumar Kushagra to gain valuable experience in the India A setup. This selection could influence future considerations for the senior national team, especially given Pant's importance as India's primary wicketkeeper in all formats.
